What is Work/Family/Passion balance? How do I achieve it?

Now onto the post. What is Work/Family/Passion balance? It is exactly what it sounds like, balance between the three. Your career may already be one of your passions, which is excellent! You are living proof that one can do what they love and make a career from it! I want you to live your life to the fullest and chase your passions to your max! But to do that you need to have balance. Balancing your family, work, and of course your passions can seem impossible but it isn’t! When you don’t have the balance you are stressed, irritable, and don’t enjoy the small and special moments in your life. Finding balance turns all that around.
It takes a little time, focus, reflection, along with trial and error to find the best balance for you. Don’t worry though, while it does take some time, it will be worth it! Finding the right balance will relieve so much stress in your life. You will be happier, calmer, more relaxed, and able to spend time with the people you love and chase your passions to the max.
Now the guide is broken into three parts. Again, I strongly suggest you get the free packet so you can follow along and don’t have to create anything yourself. The three parts are:
Part 1: How to find the right balance for you
Part 2: Create a Schedule
Part 3: The life afterward!
In part 1 you write down everything that is important to you. Family, passions, work, whatever it is, write it down. Be specific too! The more specific the better. After creating your list you will want to rank them from most to least important.
Then in part 2 you will want to create a schedule for each day of your life. In the worksheet I give a format and example you can follow and use. But essentially you will want to fill up every moment of your waking day. While it seems extreme you will be surprised at how much you can fit in your time, even with allowing yourself time to just relax and decompress. You start by scheduling the things of highest importance and the ones that are mandatory. Then move down the list.
Lastly, it’s living with the schedule and a balanced life. While it will take you a little time to get used to it you will see many benefits. However, know that your balance will change throughout your life and throughout each year. You need to keep checking in and seeing if the schedule you created still works or if it needs to be tweaked at all. Make the changes as needed and realize you can live a happy and healthy balanced life. In the vlog and podcast I chat about saying no to things that come up and what it can mean to you. Essentially, every time you are presented with an option of something to do or take on you have to choose to do it. If you say yes, you are saying no to something else in your life. Make sure you examine everything that comes your way and matches with your priorities and your list of what you said was important. Don’t cheat yourself and do things that aren’t aligned with your priorities!
