Carpe Diem with Jon Sansone

Carpe Diem with Jon Sansone

Jon Sansone is a very inspirational guy who is great at living his life to the max. In this episode he shares some of the strategies he has used over the years to help you get the most out of life!

When he got out of college in his early twenties it was very difficult to find a job. He ended up in sales and after some time he rose to the top. Along the way he focused on living with the motto ā€œCarpe Diemā€. He said it was mainly because he had limited resources. He didnā€™t have all that much money at first, and he didnā€™t really know anybody in the city where he lived. So, he went to the library and checked out as many motivational cassette tapes that he could to listen to. Listening to those, he learned many helpful tricks. Some of those tips helped him to become one of the top selling people at his workplace and others helped him live his life to the max.

Jon believes that when bad things happen to us, we need to figure out how to solve the problem instead of just moping about it. We need to live our life to the max through every decision we make in a day. You only get one shot at life, so itā€™s your job to have the most fun and get the most out of it. His first job as a teen was a busboy. He moved up the ranks to a waiter which was a much more stressful job. While working that job he realized that he wanted to have a good amount of money someday, so he started applying himself more in school and getting Aā€™s instead of the Bā€™s and Cā€™s he was earning. In college, he got mostly Bā€™s which was fine with him because he felt that having a balanced college experience was important.

If you want to get the most out of life you need to have a mindset of success. To do that Jon says you first need to figure out who you are. In order to figure out who you are there are a few things you can do.

1)Find out three things that you are most proud of.

2)You need to have a vision so get out a piece of paper and write down your goals. Jon likes to add a list of his accomplishments on his list of goals as well. Continue to review your goals as well. Donā€™t judge yourself if you havenā€™t completed all of your goals yet, just keep working at them every day. One thing that Jon worked very hard to do was to get out of debt. To do this, he made conscious decisions on what to do. For example, at his sales job he would take a five-minute lunch at one instead of the usual lunch at twelve with everybody else. He did this because that would allow him to be one of the only people on the phones at that time. That meant he could be making more sales than everybody else. Once you know what you need to do to complete your goals, you need to act on it too. You canā€™t just leave it be and hope that everything works out, you need to go for it!

3)It is also important to become your own best friend and love yourself. If you donā€™t love yourself, you will struggle to live a great life when thereā€™s nobody else around you.

Life is full of ups and downs; you just need to make the most of it and be ok with who you are today to be successful going forward. If you are having problems with your happiness, you may find it helpful to see a therapist. It is never shameful to get help when you need it.
