Objections on Your Journey

Objections on Your Journey - Episode 107

Life is a journey. There are ups and downs, highs and lows, summits and valleys. Along your journey, as you try to do the right things and live your life, you will face objections. There are going to be obstacles as you pursue your goals and dreams. These obstacles can do two things; they can stop you dead in your tracks, or they can help you learn and improve. You have a choice in which one of those things it will do to you. Which one will you choose? In this episode of the Jonesin’ for Show we dig into style of objections you will face and how you can overcome them so you can live out your dreams and achieve your goals.

There are two different types of objections. The first one is the external objection, another person telling you that you can’t do something, that you aren’t good enough to do something. This can be really hard to get through, especially when someone you’ve loved for a long time says you aren’t going to be able to meet one of your goals or do something you want to do. Just because they say something doesn’t mean you need to accept it. Remember that you are worthy and enough just the way you are. You don’t need to do anything or say anything to prove yourself. You need to be able to stand tall and strong in your beliefs. Their objections will try to knock you down, but you can’t let it. It can be really difficult, I struggle with it at times, that’s why I make sure I surround myself with people who believe in and support me. It’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help, it’s a sign of strength. So believe in you, do your affirmations, and surround yourself with people who will lift you up and help you on your journey!

The other type of objection is the internal objection. This is when you tell yourself that you can’t do something. It is your inner voice, your inner critic, your inner bully as Shawn Douglass likes to say that is bullying you and telling you that you suck and can’t do it. What sucks is that your internal critic is with you all the time. As much as you try to be positive, there will always be times when it is the opposite. When your internal objections are going strong you need to be able to tell yourself that you are worthy and that you are enough. You need to tell your inner critic to go away. Remind yourself of the things you have already done and accomplished. Use that energy to help you as you start to reach for your goals. Use that to remind yourself that you can do it and you’re already making progress. Stand tall, in your energy and power, and keep going and keep being you. Find a team of people that you can lean on whether your objections are external or internal. They can help give you strength and remind you that you can do whatever you want to do.
